Traditional building craft skills 2005 - England

There was a problem displaying this content

A shortage of skilled craftspeople has highlighted the need for strong action to prevent further erosion of the construction industry’s skills base.

This research report presents the first ever detailed analysis of the traditional building and craft sector. As there is no previous comparable data, it was not possible to highlight trends or make accurate forecasts. The information does however, provide a benchmark against which statistics can be refined by revisiting this research at a future date. It also allows for the ability to measure and quantify progress.

In presenting the research findings, solutions and skills action plan in one document, it is possible to assess the need and suggest the way forward.
