Conflicts of interest
CITB is committed to transparency, scrutiny, information governance and maintaining clear boundaries.
CITB believes that transparency of decision-making and rigorous scrutiny by external stakeholders, combined with well-maintained information and other structural barriers, are effective in mitigating any impact arising from perceived or actual conflicts of interest identified as it delivers its statutory responsibilities.
CITB commits itself to:
- ensure that its public sector value of transparency is promoted across the organisation
- ensure that governing committees effectively represent key stakeholders views, are strong, well informed and independent of the executive
- engage fully with all the external bodies scrutinising the different aspects of its business
- maintain clear boundaries between the staff, as well as information management disciplines supporting the different aspects of its business where there is the potential for conflict to arise.
