The project will provide new competency based training materials which have been prioritised due to immediate demand from industry. These training materials will be available for electronic use.
These workbooks will be used specifically to support the delivery of the new Scottish Modern Apprenticeship programmes in Timber Frame Manufacture and Design, and to increase the skills, capability and capacity of the timber frame manufacturing using modern methods of construction.
After the project, the workbooks will be available to download from the Structural Timber Association website for industry to access and use.

End of project summary
The project finished in December 2017.
Funding was used to develop six timber frame design and manufacture workbooks. These workbooks are high quality, use the best available evidence and are aligned to the Structural Timber Association’s Timber Frame Competency Award Scheme (TFCAS), and are available for members on the STA website.
Dissemination has just started so the impact across this sector is unknown.
