The project will support a demographic of hard to reach workers who require their skills to be recognised, wish to develop or change careers within the sector.  It will do so by building assessor capacity and delivering relevant qualifications to the target group therefore providing them with an opportunity to progress into a new career within the sector.

  • Deliver 24 OSAT courses for hard to reach workers
  • Achievement of SVQ/NVQ L2 for 144 hard to reach workers in associated trade
  • 144 blue skilled worker cards obtained
  • Deliver additional skills in health and safety, slinger/signaller and plant courses.

End of project summary

Unite identified 153 hard learners of which 24 were foreign nationals. The Union supported participants through to certificate and CSCS card.

Onsite assessment was carried out across the length and breadth of Scotland and included flagship projects such as

  • Queensferry Crossing
  • Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR)
  • Royal Hospital for Sick Children
  • the A9 dualling Perth to Inverness.
