The project will work in partnership with neighbouring training groups to develop a ‘pilot’ with local schools.
The project will highlight the processes of construction, raise awareness of careers, job roles and pathways into construction, in particular apprenticeships.
The project will promote the use of cross-curricular mix of STEM skills and development of employability skills.
- Develop a careers challenge resource
- Deliver to 500 students in 10 primary schools
- Publish and share project materials.

End of project summary
The project finished in December 2017. The Roots to Roofs project was piloted in 10 schools reaching 325 teachers and students with sessions supported by 8 construction companies. As a result of the sessions students have an increased knowledge and interest in construction careers.
