This course is for people looking to renew a CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor Card.

This course will refresh your existing knowledge, make you fully aware of changes in legislation and good working practices, to align your skill-set with the contents of current CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor Courses.

You need to attend this course in order to renew your card.

  • Delivery of safety “toolbox talk”
  • Relevant regulations and Codes of Practice
  • NASC Guidance Notes
  • TG20 – Overview
  • Work at Height, SG4 & Rescue – Overview
  • Scaffold Inspection & Handover
  • BSEN 13374 – Overview
  • BS 5975:2008 Temporary Works Procedures
  • Competence – CISRS Scheme
  • Risk assessment (including practical exercise)
  • Method statement (including practical exercise)
  • RIDDOR and Accident Reporting (including practical exercise)
  • Behavioural safety overview
  • There will be time for questions, toolbox talks, tests and course feedback.

Teaching and assessment

  • A combination of case studies, course projects and presentations.
  • You will be continually assessed and need to successfully complete a multiple-choice test.

Qualification

  • Successful delegates will receive a CISRS endorsed certificate and the accredited centre can then apply for renewal of the CISRS Supervisors card.

Mandatory Entry Requirements

  • You should either hold a current or recently expired CISRS supervisor/manager card or hold a current SMSTS certificate AND a current CISRS scaffolder or Advanced card.
  • To renew the CISRS supervisor/manager card, you will also need to have passed the CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) supervisors test in the last two years or alternatively hold an accepted supervisory level Health and safety exemption.
  • You’ll also have a good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.
